I just got a CZ82 today from Classicarms. I am not affiliated with them, but this is my second purchase and I thought I would post some pics on here to help anyone that was considering buying one. This CZ is really nice. Finish is almost 100%. Mags and holster look great too. I expected an extremely worn firearm and was shocked to see how nice it was. I only wish it were in a caliber that was easier to find. I like the 380 because I have a Walther and LCP in 380. Considering changing the barrel. CZ sells them for $100. Anyone done this? Could I make a tool and press out the 9x18 barrel in a shop press? Also, can I look up the serial number and tell approximately what year the pistol was made?

The year it was made should be right in front of the "she" that you blackened out.

9x18mm ammo is not hard to find. Good 9x18mm defense ammo is not easy to find. For that matter, it may not even exist.

Hey man, check some of my earlier thread about this gun, I got mine back in November/December time period. Also, spare mags can be had from APEX for only $28, theyre a bargain. I got two from them, and theyre worth every penny. they are factory original mags, surplus and stamped by the CZ Military. They WILL have a thicker bottom plate compared to the thin original, but they are the same. Also, disassemble and look for parts that may need to be replaced. I ended up replacing the trigger spring myself. Wolff gun springs sells good springs, I would recommend a 17 for regular use, or a 19 if you plan on using lots of steel casing ammo. Be sure to clean the piss out of it after you shoot lacker coated steel rounds! Enjoy it and have a blast! I have nearly a thousand rounds through mine, and the only malfunctions I have had are with steel ammo. I recommend AGAINST carrying it with steel casing rounds. Id get that recoil spring replaced soon though. It really is a great gun! Mine is ever EDC CCW. I never feel underpowered. Love it to death.

Well, too late, I ordered 500 rounds of Silver Bear. What do you shoot in it? I carry HP in other guns, but heard the 9x18 did good with FMJ, so I plan on carrying it with FMJ rounds. I decided against changing barrel on it, BTW. I am new to the 9x18.

Silver Bear shouldnt be an issue, I have heard mixed reports on them though. If they are the 115 grains, I DEFINTELY recommend you get a new recoil spring. Ill try to post pics of what mine looked like vs my replacment. It was pretty crazy. Steel casing are fine, the gun was made to handle them, just be sure to clean it good afterwards. Just be cautious and expect to have a few failures with steel, especially with an old/original recoil spring. The steel casings and rounds beat that gun a lot harder with blowback, and you need to make sure the spring can handle it, otherwise the  action will cock and blow back before the cycle can eject the round and inset another, and you get casings caught in the ejection port. Steel rounds are fine for range, but because of the jams, I recommend against carrying them, even though I did until recently. Its just not worth the risk when you are talking about your life.

ALSO! Im not sure if this is just my gun being off, or if this is how CZ manufactured them, but I line up the bottom of the front site post with the bottom of the rear site aperture and I get more accurate results up close than putting the top of each on par with eachother level. Just my perspective, YMMV. Enjoy it! It is a great gun! Very accurate with the polygonal rifling too..

Oh, and as far as what I shoot, I have put about 250 rounds of TulAmmo and the rest are Monarch from Academy Sports in Texas. AmmoSeek.com is a good place to go to find ammo.

Shot the CZ82 yesterday. It is extremely accurate. I was making 20 yard head shots with ease and without using a support. I am used to shooting Glocks and found this to be much more accurate. In fact, I'm not changing the barrel to .380. I shot steel cased TulAmmo FMJ rounds through it with no malfunctions. I really like this gun!!!

That fixed barrel makes it pretty accurate.  My 82 is one of my most accurate handguns.  I use steel-cased ball ammo only.  I wouldn't bother with the hollow points in this caliber, even for defensive duty.  Gratuitous 82 pr0n:
