Hello,
I purchased a NORINCO Type 54-1 in 7.62x25 this weekend at a gunshow. I also bought 1200 rounds. I think that I paid a fair price for both, plus I always like a new toy! I can't post a photo because I haven't taken one yet. Anyway, it's nothing special just your average Tokarev. I've put 60 some odd rounds through it so far. It was hitting very left, so I drifted the sight by tapping the rear sight with a block of wood propelled by a tap from a hammer. It seemed to move the point of impact to the right. It is still about 3 inches to the right, but it's dead on for elevation. Does anyone have any ideas about drifting the rear sight to the right more? By the by, I don't have any thought of using this for serious self-defense work. I've got my 5.7 for that. Or, of course there's always the trusty .357 for that. What I wanted was a cool pistol to shot that I don't have to reload. It seems that lately the only way that I can shoot anything is to reload for it. I have a couple of AR's, and I reload for them, but they eat the ammo quickly. With the Tokarev, I'm thinking about getting another 1200 rounds, which means plenty of shooting w/o reloading. Plus, I can save my brass and reload too. Anyway, if anyone else has the Tokarev bug (any kind), drop me a note. Thanks, MO-Anglo-Saxon |

All,
Thanks for the replies. Yes, I forget that it's not reloadable. I did look inside of an empty piece of brass and saw the two holes instead of the one Also, as for moving the rear sight, has anyone moved theirs with a metal punch? If so, I'd like some first hand accounts of your results. Thanks again, MO-Anglo-Saxon |
