Revolvers or 1911's?
the Monson revolvers are awesome. I have a Model 15-2 that my dad bought in 1977, that he gave me last year. It's probably the most accurate handgun I've ever shot. I have a .44 Magnum DW on the way as of today for the 1911's, I've only shot the Pointman 7, but it also is pretty awesome. Everything fits tight, and it will shoot the hairs off a gnats ass. Check out Dan Wesson Forum |
| I just got my first Dan Wesson revolver in 357 and was impressed with the overall quality. I have a couple of problems with it, the cylinder will fall out when I go to load it, and the trigger sticks. I took the pistol to a gunsmith and he said that he could not find parts for it. Are these common problems with the Dan Wesson, and where can I find parts for it? |

I have a Monson-made 14-2 and needed the spring for the cylinder. Called them up and the guy said no problem and sent me two of them, no charge. Problem is they are owned by CZ now, so YMMV. |

CZ is no longer going to support the DW's. Whatever parts they have left are it. i'd give them a call and see what they have. |

Thanks, BG They are still producing the DW 1911's, but they have removed the revolvers from thier website, and thier revolver stuff has been disappearing from thier online store. I'm pretty sure they will still service them, but I don't believe they are making parts anymore. |

Not to be selfish (I would hate to see the DW revolver disappear) but I was more concerned with the 1911....... |

I have read a couple places lately that they still supply parts (and service) to the revolver line, and are TRYING to make a comeback in that regard. There is certainly room in the market for a well made revolver, given that the Smith's have been losing favor for a decade because of the HUD agreement...
