I am looking into getting a Contender fitted with a 10 or so inch 300 AAC Blackout barrel with the ultimate plan to put a can on it. I think I can get up and running for less than the price of a good upper for an AR. I have some questions. Is there a good info source? What fits/adapts to what (Contender/G2/Encore). Do Encore rifle barrels fit/adapt to Contender frames? Can original barrels fit or be made to fit G2 frames and vice versa? What are good/bad barrel sources? |
| The Contender and G2 barrels are supposed to work on either frame, though I have heard of occasional fit issues. Encores are bigger and I don't believe anything interchanges between them. The Contender will be smaller/lighter, the Encore handles larger cartridges and the Contender handles smaller ones. I just bought a Contender a few weeks ago and am interested in some of the same information regarding barrel and info sources. I got mine off Gunbroker for what I felt was a good price. |
