I've had my Diamondback DB9 for 5 and a half months and it has until now run flawlessly. I have fired 742 rounds through it in that time period, both fmj and hp. I have never fired a +p round through it, and frankly didn't see the need with such a small pistol. I prefer the shootability of the DB9 over my now sold Rohrbaugh R9, many j frames, and other small framed pistols. I shot the Kahr pm9 better, and it felt better in the hand but was harder to pocket carry. I'm only saying all of this because I didn't wind up with the DB9 by chance, or because of the price, or because I'm some naive asshole who saw it and "liked it". Im only saying this to make it clear I was and remain a fan of the DB9, it felt and shot great and was a great compromise over a non pocket gun and a 380 (no offense to 380 people I just think I can get away with a small 9). This saturday while at the range I fired two rounds without issue and on the third round the trigger went back and stayed in the rearward position. The trigger isnt locked all the way back, more like two thirds and it just feels mushy when you push it back. After ejecting the still live third round the primer doesn't have the slightest dimple even though I could swear I felt the firing pin drop when I pulled the trigger before it broke but I may be mistaken. This is my EDC so Id like to get it up and running again because now Im carrying my Glock 36 which has been a general nightmare since my first rounds through it (I live in NY, 7 rounds in the mag max until the NRA hopefully wins the lawsuit so thats why the G36).
The real question, has anyone else had anything like this happen with a DB9 or a DB380? If so what was Diamondbacks response/customer service like? -Woody |
| I have an older two hole frame and my trigger bar broke at 500 rounds. Like you I had a long journey to arrive at the DB9. Their customer service is great. They replaced the part and upgraded mine to the latest 3 hole frame. It's been rock solid for another 600+ rounds. Don't sweat it, they will fix it and have it back to you quickly. |

Diamondback was very friendly over the phone (not sure who I spoke to, it was a male). They offered to send me a shipping label, and were thorough with logical questions questions asked both over the phone as well as an e mailed form I printed off completed and shipped with my DB9. Any updates I receive I will post here but so far they have been leaps and bounds ahead of glocks customer service which Id have to say was the worst ive dealt with in any private industry.

| I forgot to update this post but here goes. Diamondback kept me informed during the repair process and sent me an E-mail with a tracking number when they shipped my gun back to me. Show far I fired 300 rounds through the gun without cleaning it and it's definitly repaired as there haven't been any problems at all. Diamondback easily lived up to my expectations and exceeded them. If you're in the market for a low cost pocket 9 check it out. I've never shot the 380 but my DB9 shoots great and I'm happy. |
