Went out to a friends property on Saturday and finally got to try out my new Kahr CW45. I put about 125 rounds through it including Winchester 230g FMJ, Winchester 185g FMJ, Remington Golden Sabor 230g HP and Rem. Golden Sabor 185g HP. I had some various Blazer/CCI ammo, but didn't get a chance to shoot it. Only had one issue that was a casing that didn't clear the slide while being ejected, but that was while shooting one handed and I'm sure that was probably due to limp wristing it. I was very surprised how easy it was to shoot. May have been my imagination, but it seemed to have less recoil than my Colt Defender 1911 which is about the same exact size, just heavier. Although I'm still much more accurate with the Colt (not used to the Kahr sites yet).
So overall, a good experience right out of the box. Now I need to clean it and then work on getting this Hogue Handall Jr. grip on it! |

Finally got out to break in my P45. I shot both Federal 230 grain non-toxic fmj and Speer Lawman 200 grain fmj, about 150 rounds total. There was one reported FTE by another shooter (I wasn't watching) but my experience was flawless. Some rapid fire mag dumps, slow aimed fire, etc. I was very pleased.
I want to get a hold of some of the Cor-bon 160 grain all copper ammo and check that. It seems to be made for short barrelled .45s. |
