I now have 200 rounds through my P45 and have had one FTE. Other than that, it has been good to go. One thing I am finding is that the trigger pull is so long, if I am not VERY deliberate when firing (read slow), I shoot very low. If I am deliberate, I shoot just fine. That being said, is there anyone around who is well reputed for trigger work on Kahrs? It needs to be shortened up for my liking. I'm still not sure I'm going to keep it, so I'm looking at all options right now. Thanks. Blake |
Yup, long wait time though. I wish I liked the P45 more than I do. Perhaps it is because I am so used to XD's. I am leaning toward dumping the Kahr and getting an XD45 compact, or an XD9SC. I'll give the Kahr one or two more trips to the range before I...pull the trigger...pardon the pun. ![]() Blake |
they don't shorten the trigger on the kahr. not sure it can be done. the trigger pull on your kahr is 1/2". Now for a doub le action ccw handgun, this is IMO where it should be. It shouldnot be a single action type trigger. The kahr triggers are super smooth, no longer than alot of double action trigger. Not har dto get used to either. cylinder and slide did a complete custom job on my personal kahr pm9 and they smoothed the trigger and contoured my trigger even, which helped alot but they cannot shorten it. I know of no one who does or ahs done that. I am sure it wold take a compelte redesigned trigger bar in order for that to happen and it would be cost prohibitive IMO>. Its a defense gun, not a 25 yard target gun. tonight my POS kahr PM9 just hit the 15,000 round mark and not one malfunction since taking it out of the box. I have more in the custom work by cylinder and slide and accurate-Iron than the entire gun but it is my defense gun and I shoot it like I stole it. A fun gun for me to shoot as my round count so indicates. I love the trigger system on the kahrs. If you want to pull a sh-t trigger pull the kt P11, you'd swear it was never going to go off,but you know what sone guys love um and shoot it darn well. If the kahr really doesn't sut ur needs best thing to do is Peddle it and move on to what pleases you. No doubt the more you shoot a kahr the better you will get and the better you will get to know the gun.. |
took me exactly 7 months to the week to get my pm9 into them and then 45 days back. Not sure I wuold go through that again. Not only to long to wait but others I have found can do the same type of work for far less. they are not cheap but their reputation is what it is to. Although I must admit when they sent my PM9 back to me after 45 days, they had put the trigger system together wrong and I had to send it back but Bill laughridge stepped right up tot he plate and picked up the gun on his dime and got it back within a week on his dime . They probalbuy ar ethe premier kahr custom work people but Accurate-Iron.com can do about allthe same work. for far far less and in 1/4 of the time period. They do super work, trust me on that... |
