I have a KAHR K40 that is stainless but is not marked with "stainless" on the frame like all the others I have seen. It was I believe a fairly early stainless gun (serial # DB04XX). Does anyone know if KAHR did not mark the early stainless guns, or if mine somehow missed that process? PS: My brother has a KAHR K40 (just like mine) with a later serial number and his is marked "stainless" on the frame. Put the two side by side and they look identical. Thanks in advance for any replies |

I have a K9 with an "AR" prefix serial, and it is marked "stainless". Either your gun simply wasn't so marked, OR it's actually a hard chrome model. My gun has a stainless slide and frame, but almost ALL other parts are actually carbon steel with a satin hard chrome finish that looks like stainless. The Kahr hard chrome guns are hard to tell from stainless. Your best bet is to either check the end label on the box for the stainless ID or contact Kahr and ask what you have. I know several people who had what they thought were stainless Kahr's, that were actually plated, and one man who had a stainless model he thought was plated. |
