I've posted a couple times about my SA GI in OD. I have 700 rounds through it with a few FTF. I have noticed when i manually work the slide it is catching somewhere. There is excessive wear on the dust cover marked SA .45 auto. The finish on the dust cover is black and with 700 rounds through it there is quite a bit of bare metal showing. I also noticed the finish on the left side of the trigger guard is rough looking. Almost like the finish was not applied properly. Would you guys have sent it back? I don't want to be too picking because it was purchased as a shooter. The main concern is the sticking slide. I thought it would have broken in by now, but it has not.

Yes, I'd send it in.

When you say "sticking", is it enough to hold the slide in place out of battery if you remove your hand?

It will stick open for a second and then go into battery. If i pull it all the way back and ride it forward it will stop. It does not stop open if i pull the slide back and let it fly.

sounds like the sticking could be hte disconnector...
I'd tear it apart and make sure there is no gunk down by the sear/disconnector/hammer.
