I was looking at an XD9 Sub Compact at a local gun show and I'm thinking about buying one. Has anyone heard of problems with this model or the company? The people at the gun show told me "it's double action only". If I rack the slide I can press the trigger only once. To me this is not double action. The local gun shop says "it's just like a Glock". I never shot a Glock so I'm confused as to what type of action it has. I own a Colt Mark IV series 70 45 cal and a Ruger 22 auto. Both are single action. I would like to use the XD9 as a carry gun and want to know more about the safety system. If there is a round in the chamber is it cocked and locked? Thanks in advance. |
It's striker fired, single action with a long pull... The trigger safety is redundant, as the XD has it's other automatic safety in the RIGHT place (back of the grip)... Eliminate the long pull & the trigger safety, add a manual, and you'd have a pretty good gun.... |
