I wasnt into the XDM's untill i recently had the chance to get one in a pretty good deal. I have owned a XD45 for a year or so and no issues with it.
was just wondering what conclusion you guys shooting XDm's have come to reguarding its durability and reliability. its a bery nice pistol and sits very well in my hand. i think i'll enjoy it but just want to know if there is anything to watch out for with long term durability |

I have shot my XD9sc and my XDm9 both for a 4 day course at front sight. The XDm took the prize!! it handled extremely well had zero issues and never let me down. I DID have trigger wor, night sights and extended mag release added but I love my XD's both with and without the m, the mseems to be more accurate. |

I just bought one this morning ($695.99, black with night sights) in .40 S&W and ran 200 rounds through it without a problem. Accuracy was great out to max allowed range of 25 yards. I'm still getting used to the trigger feel since it's pretty different from a 1911, HK, or Sig. At first my magazine release was very hard to depress with a loaded magazine. I took a fully loaded mag and inserted it on a closed slide. I gave it a good smack to seat the mag and the release button difficulty went away. It's still a little stiff compared to any other pistol I've handled but I think it will get better with time. Right now I'm storing the magazines loaded until the spring softens a little. I've loaded thousands of rounds into magazines and getting the last round into my magazines was tough without the included mag loader. I like the way it points and feels in my hand. I typically use my USP Tac for pistol and 3 gun matches. I may start using the XDm since I'll have three more rounds per mag. |
| Just ran nearly 900 rounds through my new issue. You have covered everything I have learned except, I could not get the mag release to loosen up (and I did a quite a bit of full magazine tactical mag changes). The mags are a pain for that last 16th round (shooting 40). The mags obviously clean up easy. Not impressed with the small narrow voids that will retain unspent powder and carbon, making cleaning the gun well a pain. The gun sure shot well. Never a hiccup. |
