A buddy wants to sell his older Springer stainless loaded 1911.
I am interested in buying it but he's asking 600.00.  It doesn't have
the crossed cannon grips.  Also, the sights are just plain black Novacks,
not 3 dot nor nites.  It also has some minor scratches.  I am thinking
that the price is a little high.  Any guesses on a fair value.

How old is old?  I bought a "Black Stainless Combat" with the 3 dot sights (not night sights).  It has the black rubber double diamond grips and had two 7 round mags and the case.  It had less than 500 rounds through it.  (my buddy bought it new and I shot it more than he did)  It has some minor scratches in the bright stainless that can be buffed out.  I paid $450 for it.  I am guessing he  originally bought it about 5 years ago.
Here it is with the Hogue grip on it.  I also got the grip and a holster and two Mec-Gar 8 round mags in the deal too.

I paid $725 for my Loaded brand new. For an older one I would think $500 would be a fair price. At $600 I would buy new and get night sights to boot.

$600 is too high, IMO.

$500 in used condition would be better if it's as you described as 95%~.

Personally, I think $600 is run of the mill for used Loaded's. If he won't budge, and you like the pistol, I wouldn't walk away at that price.

Hell, GI's and Mil-Specs can be hard to find for $500 or less, a Loaded should be harder yet.
