I really like the Mil Spec.  Just enough features to make it a good defense gun and comes with great customer service.

I didn't get a "loaded" coupon with my order from Bud's last week. If you also do not receive one, call Springfield's customer service number and they will send you one immediately. I called today :)

If you don't know what a "loaded" coupon is, it is a one time buy as much as you can(I think) offer for Springfield stuff at big discounts. A nice leather holster for example is $35 instead of $55. Mags are cheap but may be backordered, cleaning kits. I'll know more when I get mine.

I just ordered the PX9149LP Loaded Champion.  I'm really looking forward to my new 1911 but I'm not sure when I'll get it.
Some say 2-3 months.  Anyone know about the lead-times?  I was about to go with a Kimber until I really did some big research.
For the value, I don't think you can go wrong with the Springfield.

Can you get a drop in wider grip safety for that model?  That looks like a nice piece!

Lead times? I think most of us ordered from Bud's or another place that has them in stock. I received mine 7 days after snail mailing my money order. 2-3 months wow, I couldn't do that.

edit: a quick search suggests they are out of stock everywhere except one on Gunbroker($950) versus the average good price of around $875.

Just got mine. UPS delivered it yesterday to my FFL, ordered when I did the original post. Snow storm slowed it down a couple days probably. The online picture is a different finish I think. Pics of mine:

Yea I noticed the pics Bud's uses(from Springfield's website) show a slightly different finish than what you get. They do specifically mention this in their text though, which is why we go by model numbers when ordering from Bud's. I think the pics from your first post is black stainless steel, yea, that's what Springfield calls one of their finishes.

The stainless for example looks more matte, almost bead blasted versus the shiny you receive. It's probably just the lighting Springfield used when taking the pics.

When ordering online you absolutely have to double check the exact model numbers.  The finish on your gun is exactly what I would have expected.  The picture Buds has up is just completely inaccurate.

They are hard to find sometimes but keep your eye out. Also, check here.

They usually have a couple and are an industry partner on the site.
