I'm looking for some help. I need a Springfield Mil-Spec to use as a base gun for a "full house gun" custom job. Anybody know the cheapest place to buy one? So, far $412 is the best price I've found. I'm not normally not this cheap, but the builder isn't  going to using much of the base gun anyway.

Around here (and I just got one last month) the going rate for a Green parkerized Mil-Spec is $399.

I've seen many post the same price from around the country on several sights.

Good Luck!!

There is a Springfield Milspec model with a MSRP of $620 and then there is a "GI" model which is what you see for sale in the $385-$400 range.  Some of the differences are grips and sights.

For price shopping, go to the Springfield web site and click where it says "Buy online" below each model.  This takes you to the Davidson's web site which has a search feature for gun shops in your area.  Some gun shops have pricing and available inventory accessibile on-line.  In my area I've found the Milspec model to vary in price by $100-$120 (lowest was $504) and the G.I. model has a price range from low to high of $60 or so, with the lowest price of $384.00 depending on where you buy.  That sure saves some driving around.

I'm just looking for a "GI Model". This is for a full custom job, so I don't need anything fancy.

VA Arms in Manassas has them in the $450 range last I checked.  The WWII was about $40-50 cheaper.
