I just picked one of these up today.  It is awesome.  I am using the Wilson Combat 10 round mags.  It runs flawlessly.  At 7 yards, there is just one ragged hole in the target.

I have put 300 rounds through it so far.  It has run perfectly.  What a great pistol.  I am completely pleased with it and the Wilson Combat 10 round mags.

can you post a pic with the 10 round mags in it plz...also just curious is the area around the ejection port smooth or does it seem a bit wavy..i know a user on here said his had that.

Another thing i was wondering is how the recoil...does it kick like nothing at all because of the weight?

I will try to get some more pictures today.

The recoil is very light.  I have mainly used handloads, but I did try some Remington HP "carry ammunition."  That seemed equally comfortable to shoot.

Here's the pistol on my ammo bag.  You can see the way the mags sit in the gun.  These mags were meant to be used with a well.  I am sure I will add one in the future.

I got a chance to try some Hornady Critical Defense Ammunition.  It functions great.

The gun shoots very close to point of aim as delivered.

I put another couple of hundred rounds through it today.  That brings the total up to just over 500 rounds since getting it on Sunday.  So far, everything is functioning perfectly.  I am very pleased.  My Dad and I went to the range yesterday.  He said it was the most pleasing auto that he has ever fired.  I certainly rank it near the top for me.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your 9mm 1911. I own the same pistol and like its accuracy. However, I'm having  a lot of problems with the slide not fully returning. I've tried many different brands of ammo ranging from 115, 124 and 147 grain... results are the same... slide will not return to the firing position. I've cleaned and lubed with several different lube brands, again to no avail. I have returned the pistol to Springfield twice. They state that they changed the recoil spring, polished the barrel fitment and fired 36 rounds without malfunction. Afterward, I'm still having the same problem...slide will not fully return. I'm frustrated and tired of asking my FFL dealer to return it to Springfield for useless gunsmith work. I have other Springfields (1911 .45ACP and a XD-9 Tactical) and they both work flawlessly but I'm beginning to think my 9mm 1911 is a lemon.

If anyone has any recommendations as to how to make this pistol more reliable, I'd like your advice.

I also love my stainless 9mm Springfield 1911 pistol, and I only use Wilson 10-rd magazines. My pistol has Novak sights, however, which I prefer over the target sights.

My 9mm Springfield had to go back to Springfield for tuning, and they didn't quite get it right, so a local gunsmith finally got it tuned with a combination of lighter recoil and main springs.
