I'm making a holster for a fellow ARFCOM member and had a quick question.

He has a:

http://www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?version=32

and I have a:

http://www.botachtactical.com/blguspop19a1.html

to work with.

I'll admit I don't own any 1911's, I know I know....It's on the list.

II just want to make sure that other than the barrel length that everything else is the same?  I'm assuming so I just wanted to make sure.

On a side note, I called Springfield to ask the same question.  Even though the customer service rep I got wasn't a 100% certain of the answer their customer service was fantastic!!!!!  She is going to have a marketing guy call me back with the answers.  She even said they would mail out a demo gun to make the holster (although that would be nice I think my Rings blue gun should do the trick)

Thanks

In addition to the bbl length, the Operator is also a bull bbl. IOW, no bbl bushing. This may make the end of a holster different if the end is enclosed. With the different length bbl between the two, I wonder if the measurement from the trigger guard to the beginning of the rail is different from the two? It might be too small to worry about, but it looks to me as if they're different, IMO.

The 5" operator has one more rail than the LW Champion Op so that can make a difference.

I know that Blackhawk Serpa holsters will fit any of the Operators except the full length dust cover so If you make a holster to fit the 5" Op it should work for the LW Champion Operator.

I had Milt Sparks make a holster for my LW Champ Op. I told them to make it for the 4" kimber with a rail and it fits like a glove.
