I was wondering if a knowledgable member here could recommend some good performing ammo.Is the short 3 inch barrel a problem with regards to velocity or will the difference of one inch not be noticeble in effectiveness? Is it wise to go with a heavy bullet or light to increase velocity.I was considering 124 grain as a happy medium,or should I really not be concerned? Thanks

I would forget totally any claims about ammo effectiveness. The important part is accuracy and reliability. Try different weights and see which performs best for you. I usually like to see two boxes of each to determine reliability and consistency.

thanks for the reply. If I understand what your saying is,that the difference between a standard XD and compact as far as barrel length affecting the ammo performance should not really be an issue.Just make sure that the ammo I use is functioning properly in the pistol?
