I am assuming (have no idea if this is right) that obviously 9mm is just smaller than 40 S&W, so you might be able to fit both 9mm and .40 mags in the same XDm. Now, if they made a .45 they would have to increase the girth of the grip so they could fit a .45 double-stacked mag without having crappy capacity. This is probably the reason why they don't have a .45 because they would have to manufacture a totaly different gun (new slide, new barrel, new lower, new everything). So manufacturing the 9mm and the .40 would allow for more guns off the line every day and in the shops for sale while everyone is buying guns and crap tons of ammo. Makes sense to me... I would do it too.
But I really really want a XDm .45 ACP
