I have come over from the darkside! I just sold my kimber tle/rl so I can purchase a springfield 1911.  my question is, I REALLY want a TRP, would I be doing wrong in purchasing one?

p.s. I have found a used one for $1000 bucks, and in really nice shape. is that a good deal?

I have a TRP Operator that I use as a match gun and general plinker.  It's a bit large and on the heavy side for carry purposes but it's accurate as hell and I've been through about 3k rounds of various different ammo types, including reloads, without so much as a hiccup.  They can be pricey, but in my mind, it is worth every penny.  That doesn't sound like a bad price if the gun is good condition and if it needs any work done, SA does great work and is easy to deal with.

The TRP is a great choice. I ended up going with the Loaded as it had all the features I wanted and was more affordable. I would love to get my hands on a TRP however and $1K certainly sounds like a good price.

I'd grab it for $1k if it's in good condition. SA got awesome customer service (even though I've never needed to use it) so they'll take care of you if needed since they honor the weapon for it's lifetime, not just the owner.

I already had a loaded and I wanted something a little higher end without being a full blown custom so I went with the TRP and am very happy with it.

great,  the used TRP is in great condition.  as for carry... I carry an xd45c, I love that thing.

For that price I would also suggest the TRP. I had a loaded and like to TRP much more. It has a better trigger and barrel and a few other little things.
