Ive had my XD for about 1 year and been 100% but after a pin shoot a month ago cleaned it pit t away . Today got it out for some fun and WTF the finish ontop of the slide is comming off in several spots ! All I cleaned with was CLP so whats up ? Will springfield fix this for free or ?

Might depend on what caused the finish damage. Either way it doesn't cost to ask. I did about 4 years ago and they offered a variety of finishes at the time. Variety of prices too. An unknown substance in my shop got on my slide taking the finish off a thumb-size area. No idea what the stuff was but some got on the muzzle of my nicest Mauser too.  Got a local guy, who said he was trained by Duracoat, to refinish the slide with Duracoat and you can't tell it from the original finish. He did an awesome job on it.
