new to xd's and was wondering why it says made in croatia on the one i just bought?

because they are made in croatia. they used to be called HS2000 a croation pistol and springfield bought the rights to them in 2002 ..Great pistol for the price i love my XD45

thanks, as i said i'm new to the xd and couldn't pass it up because of the price. i need to research the history a little more

It happens to be Croatia's number one export.

They have a long history of making fine guns over there in the former Yugoslavia.

I would never sell my two XDs.

The XD is just a Springfield branded HS2000, which is made in Croatia. Here are some pics of the HS2000.

The HS2000 also is the sidearm of Croatian military and police forces.

At least it doesn't say "Made in China" like my SKS. Or, is that a good thing?
