Anyone here reload 45's for the XD? I seen in the manual that you should not do it, but I figure that's just to cover their a$$es. I'm looking to maximize accuracy. If anyone does reload 45's, please share your reciepies. Thanks in advance!

I use hardball 230gr lrn or plated berry's with max loads of 231.  It is a very safe pressure and works very well in the XD.  Winchester White box is very obviously a hotter load, so you should have no problems with the Winchester book lawyer-safe recipe.

The XD isn't a target pistol, so getting more accuracy from it will come more from practice.

I buy the cheapest 230gr FMJ I can find and load them as the books say.  I use titegroup for my 45acp ammo, but I don't expect precision accuracy out of my 4" handgun.

My XD45 has only seen a few boxes of factory loads and most of those were PD ammo. The rest has all been reloads. I have about 3  thousand rounds through my XD45 at this point with no failures of any kind.

That's alot of shooting XD_fan! That's what I like to hear. Unfortunatly, I don't have the time to do that kind of shooting. I am, however, trying to make more time. Thanks for the reply. Happy shooting

I reload my XD with either 230 gr FMJ or 200 LRN.  I had tried using 200 gr SWC but they would not feed.  From what I under stand, using SWC is a bit of a hit or miss situation.  Some XDs like them, other don't.  My powder of choice is Tite Group.  Check out the Hodgdon's catalog or online for the powder charges.

4.2 grains of Clays and 230 gr FMJ, for an "all day" easy shooting load.

Every gun manual says not to use reloads.  It's to cover their ass.  I've been reloading 45 for a few years now and its great.  I usually go with 230gr FMJ and 5.0 gr Bullseye.
