| I picked up a used XD 40 5". It shoots consistantly 6-8" low at 25 yrds. It isn't just me, 2 other people shot it and have the same problem. It groups extremely well, just very low. Any idea how to fix it, or what is causing it? |
Aim higher? ![]() Your front sight is too tall for what the POI is for your gun. I know it's a PITA, but you'll need to send the gun back for warranty work & have them replace the front sight blade with one of proper height. Or, you could pay for the work yourself & make the move to night sights? Good luck!

Low and to the left sounds like a classic trigger squeeze problem. I know I had that problem since I was trained to fire rifles with the tip of my finger. When I switched to using the pad of my finger and concentrated on pulling the trigger straight back, my shots moved back into the black. Correcting someones shooting habits over email is like trying to correct their golf swing, so I suggest you head over to a long range and find someone knowledgeable to help you. I have had good luck just walking up to people and asking for help. Shooters are generally very chatty about their hobby and if they can't help they probably know someone who can. Thats why I love this hobby and love ARFCOM. -huskAR |

My XD shot low when I got it as well. I didn't want to bother sending it back so I got these sig sights from CDNN and just replaced the front sight with a brass punch. David www.cdnninvestments.com/sig8sisetgus.html |
