The one I looked at was a forged steel frame, just a gov model with a hi-cap and a larger grip basically. http://www.internetguncatalog.com/customerpages/details.asp?ItemNum=32591&CustNum=95652   fullclip

I've got one.  Had problems out of the box with Failure to Return to Battery.  Bought a P14 mag, no difference.  Fed it everything from Winchester white box to fmj reloads, to golden sabre, silver tips, corbon, etc.  No difference.  Every few rounds would get a FTRB.  Called Springfield customer service, packed it up and shipped it away.  They said they replaced and tuned the extractor.  Haven't had a problem since.

They have good customer service, and paid for the shipping, but it was a pain to lose the gun for 3 weeks while they worked on it.

I've heard of other stories.  None the less.  I love the gun.

I have a buddy who bought one. He's had nothing but problems with it since new. Failure to extract and failure to return to battery, mainly. Winny White box 230gr is all he feeds it. Mags are para-ordinance mags and are in the neighborhood of 50 bucks each! YMMV.

CDNN has the mags $10 cheaper, also replace the factory mag springs with wolf 10%. Much better springs.

does springfield make their own hicaps?  I didn't see them listed on the website.  There is one local for about $569.  I was thinking of getting one, but it seems like the stories here are bad>  anyone with a good experience?
