I bought a SA Subcompact in 9mm with the XD Gear package. $430.99 + tax. Played with it for a couple of days and managed to get to the range today. 358 rounds of WWB down the pipe without a single malfunction. I love this pistol. Most shooting was at 10 yards and the gun was very accurate. I finished with some fast double taps at seven yards. I was able to keep 62 out of 64 rounds in the 10 ring on the IDPA target shooting a double tap as quick as I could fire. Last 4 rounds to the "Head" were touching. This gun runs clean also. WWB is not very clean, leaving residue, and brass shavings in my AR 9mms. This XD had almost no powder residue. I disassembled and cleaned it in about 10 minutes. Only complaint would be loading the magazines. The springs are stiff. I quickly decided to use the mag loader. I am almost afraid to buy the XD 45, as I don't want my favorite .45 to be anything other than a 1911. |

congrats on the new gun and thanks for the report, i bought one about a week and half ago and i haven't got to the range yet, but can already tell i love it.i agree with GenghisKhan i normally don't get into the sc handguns, but this is something else. without even have shot it yet these are my observations. 1)Light weight 6 ½ oz less than service model 2)Better balanced than service model 3)Points naturally, better than service model 4)Quick target aquastion 5)Short, small overall for nice concealablity 6)Fits all holsters I already have 7)Does not have enough rail to accept m6 8)Sleeves make the 12rd mags more astetcally pleasing. 9)Grip is a little to short but t hat was fixed with a pearce grip extention. Perfect. 10) Feels overall better in my hand than any other handgun including xd service |

I have had my subcompact XD 9 for over a year now. It wears tritium express sights with the big dot up front and shallow v in the rear. I didn't think that I would like them, but it shoots very well. Not one malfunction with it yet. I shoot it alot at 7 yds. and it will shoot much tighter than I do. I have shot as tight as 3" at 25 yds from a rest. It is a great little gun. The finger tip extensions make it alot more comfortable with my huge hands. It really seems to like double taps! |
