My dad is thinking about selling his Springfield Ultra. It is the double stack version that holds 10 rounds per mag. He bought it new 4 or 5 years ago, and I'd guess that it has less than 400 rounds through it. I know he's only taken it shooting TWICE! It is in perfect condition, minus a little discoloration on the front strap were his wedding ring rubs when shooting (minor, but we haven't been able to clean it off?). It's never been holstered or carried. He's kept it in his gun cabinet unloaded in a soft case forever! It's the parkerized "Loaded" model. He's got two 10 round Springfield mags, but I think he said he threw the box away (I don't know why!). I can't find a double stack Ultra for sale anywhere to gauge price range, so I don't know what to tell him for price. Any help is appreciated. |

Steel frame, it should bring around $550-650. Alloy frame will be a bit more, IMO. Please keep in mind that the selling price may not be what it's worth & vice versa. Another bit of advice is drop "x-amount of rds fired" when trying to sell it. There's no way to prove or disprove this claim, especially if the gun has had a good cleaning. (No offense!) It's either a used gun or ANIB (as new in box) & yours is clearly a used gun. Pushing the low rd count sounds to a buyer like the old car salesman & the "little old lady who only drove it on Sundays to church" line. Might check out Gun List newspaper, see what others are listed for, maybe CDNN's web site???? Good luck to you!!! |
Thanks for the info. It's not my gun, and I'm not trying to sell it. It's my dads, and he was "thinking about it" so he asked me what it's worth. I've sold TONS of guns online and in person, so the question was not "how to sell them" it was simply whats it worth? The problem was I couldn't find a similar one to his (double stack) to get a price range. I wasn't pushing a round count, I was giving an idea of the use, to get an opinion on approximate value. Thanks again. ETA: In the last couple days I've found three for sale (two localy, and one on-line). It seems that the average is roughly $625 so you were right on. Thanks again! |
