XD45 ? > Springfield

Is the XD45 DAO or SADA. I am thinking about getting one but am not sure. I have a HK USP 45 that I like very much, but was thinking of getting another 45.

the trigger pull is 5.5-7 lbs according to springfields web site.

its kinda in the middle

all mine are close to the 5.5. but my .357sig is a tad bit longer

Not true. The XD is a striker fired pistol. Double action means the hammer is cocked as part of the trigger pull. If you have a FTF you cannot just pull the trigger again to re-cock the striker.

The XD is NOT a DAO.

The XD is technically a single action pistol.
When the pistol is cocked, the firing pin is fully compressed.
Pulling the trigger does one thing, release the firing pin.

Hence, single action.

They are called SA or safety action. That is why they are so hard to place in competition.

Well I happened to stop in Cabelas yesterday. While I was there I thought I would go over and see if they had an XD45. I had them get out the 5", which is what I would get.
I AM IN LOVE!

I did find out that it was single action and the trigger pull was super sweet. I am going to get one as soon as I can. I have a HK USP 45 that I love, but I wanted to have at least one more 45 besides it and my 1911 Systema. The XD 45 is the one. I read the article in American Rifleman, do you guys agree with the accuracy results they show in the article? They showed that the average group with the Federal in the 5" XD45 was 2.53" at 25 yds.
Also, to those of you who have the HK USP 45, how does the recoil of the XD compare?

Well you guys sure make more sense then Springfield's definition which is Ultra Safety Assurance (USATM) action trigger system.

Mine shot sub 2" @ 10yards with WWB....but I completely suck with the handguns...I'm quite sure it is capable of better. I can shoot three rounds in one big hole, but I get lazy or sloppy after that.
