I just ordered one of the MC Operators and wanted it in all Black but SA was talking about it being sent from them to my distributor and then me sending it back for them to refinish it. They wanted to do it this way instead of having it done before it left the shop. Kinda stupid if you ask me but hey nobody is asking. Wanted to know were I can get about the toughest black finish on the market the quickest place to get it done. Anyone that has opinions please list them and also if you have pictures of some of your springers with the black finish please post them as well. Thanks Will |

I had a Browning HP customized last year and the slide was refinished by Mac's Shootin' Irons, I'll put their finish up against anyones and they offer colors too. That is a sweet blaster my friend. That is along the color scheme of my Light Weight Springer full size. Awesome, thanks for the info I will check into it. New info, just talked with Mac and will be sending one of my springers that I already have to him to check it out. Thanks. |
I TOO SECOND THE RECOMENDATION FROM MAC'S HE DOES GREAT WORK AND IS VERY REASONABLE. I HAVE HAD 3 DONE MY HIM AND THAT NUMBER WILL CLIMB AS I ONLY LIKE TO HAVE ONE OF MY KIDS GONE AT A TIME. I HAVE 4 MORE THAT HE WILL WIND UP DOING. ALSO I LEFT ONE OF HIS FRAMES OUTSIDE IN THE GRASS FOR A WEEK AND WITH THE DEW AND RAIN IT WAS EXPOSED!! AFTER I WASHED OFF THE WATER SPOTS IT LOOKED LIKE THE ONE THAT NEVER HAD BEEN OUT OF THE HOUSE. 7 DAYS OF PAIN AND NO PROBLEMS OF ANY KIND. |
| I've had good experiences with Mac's (Shooting Irons) as well though so far I've only had him refinish AR mags (in KG Gunkote). However, when I finally get my Springfield 9mm (only available in SS...argh) I will be sending it off to him to get the slide done in OD and the frame in black. It will make a nice mate for my MC Operator (OD frame, black slide). |
