Sweet pistol! Congrats! That's the one 1911 I'd actually buy. I am really contemplating saving up for one. It would be in good company with my USP Tactical.
What's the difference between the TRP Operator and the regular Operator? I was on SA's site and it looked like the regular operator didn't have the full length dust cover/rail. I think there is something wrong with their catalogue though. Any info would be appreciated. |

Took it to the range on Saturday. Shoot good. A little low and a little left. The left is my fault. Kind of a heavy trigger and when I get a heavy trigger I seem to pull about an inch left at 15 yds. The low could have been my crappy reloads. I noticed that the gun was on when with the sights aligned and covering the target I was on. But what is funny in the manual they state they leave the factory w/ the 6 o'clock sight picture to be on. I did not find this to be true like I said it was low w/ this sight picture. I will try factory ammo next maybe that will clear it up. No FTF or FTE w/ about 100 rounds of lead and 150 rnds of hollowpoint both reloads 230gr. I completely took the gun down (by the way the ambi safety on this one is hard as hell to break free) and did my dinner table trigger job on it. It now breaks cleaner, travels smoother and is about a pound lighter. This should take care of the the "shooting left". I will let yall know. Wes, Good looking pistol Alien, They do not make this operator anylonger. It was the loaded model. Now they have the TRP and the MC operator. They also used to have a mil spec operator that was like mine but did not have the bells and whistles. The TRP has a Bull Barrel, adj. nite sights, front strap checkering, SA magwell and I believe is somewhat hand fitted on some parts. Mine has nite sights but none of the other stuff listed. I have to tell you the frame to slide fit on mine is very tight as well as the barrel hood. The MC operator is built like the Kimber Warior. It does not have the full length dustcover. It is their Marine Corps (MC) pistol. I hope this helps. |
