Its not that huge of a problem, but I have never experienced it before with any other firearm. When the magazine is fully loaded (9 rounds), inserted, and I have one in the chamber, it is VERY difficult to release the magazine. I went to unload it today to allow a friend to handle it, and I thought it was broke. I had to use some serious pressure and two thumbs on the magazine release to get it to let go. Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea as to what may be the issue? THanks for your time. Justin PS... I did an experiment by removing one round from the magazine at a time and trying it out. It got progressively easier to release the magazine until I had finally removed 3 rounds, and then there was no change. It was normal after that. |
DONT CLIP THE COILS.... dont mess with anything... do this first: Clear and field strip the pistol, get a long thin punch, a hunk of wire or something and put a few drops of you favorite gun oil on that and let it run down into where the mag relase button and mag release lever/catch rub on eachother. If you have a needle type oiler, that works great too. Now, reassemble the pistol, and take an empty mag and just sit infront of the TV for the duration of the nightly news, slapping the magzine in and releasing it. The mag catch lever and button need to wear in just a little bit. After a couple of news broadcasts your mag release button will work very smoothly. They are a little rough when new. There probably is nothing wrong with your magazines or your pistol. Give ths a try first, then if it dosnt work, call SA and they will fix it. Dont start clipping springs... its not the answer. |
