Hey. I have a 3 month old XDs 45 that is a great little gun. I have changed the backstrap and recently noticed what appears to be rust on the end of the pin that holds the backstrap in place. I will contact SA tomorrow but would like to know if anyone has had this.

Thank you.

No issues with mine whatsoever. One thing is for certain is that SA will take care of the problem as soon as you make them aware of it.

This is what I would do.I noticed the pin is almost too long with the smaller backstrap installed. The smaller backstrap allows your hand to contact the pin where the larger backstrap does not.Keep it oiled.

I called SA and explained my question. The guy told me that it does happen. He sent me a new one for free along w/ a sticker. SA CS is awesome!!

Roll pins rust. It's not a big deal.

Just make sure to oil it well before you tap it in place.... or you might have the same issue... your fingers could cause rust as described.
Just being frugal but....I'd keep the extra pin........whether the new one or the original, you never know....
