1.  Is around $800.00 a good price?

2.  Are they made in the US?

3.  Anything good or bad to know about them?

Bought mine new about 10-12 yrs ago.  Paid 650ish if I remember right.  So price is about right.

Had an extractor problem out of the box.  Springfield offered to repair, but chose to take care of myself.

Gun is now ultra-reliable and my go to pistol.

Probably not gonna shoot 2" groups at 25 yds, but plenty accurate for defensive use.

$800 sounds pretty reasonable.  I paid that out the door for my Range Officer in January.

Pretty sure all the Springfield 1911's are made in the US.  Can't go wrong with a Loaded or a Springfield for that matter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe most Springfields are built on Imbel (Brazilian) frames.

However, a 'NM' prefix on the serial number denotes American assembled.

On that note, I would recommend Springfield 1911s without reservation.
Springfield stands behind their products and their customer service is top notch.

800 is the lowest price I have seen for a loaded version.  There are 2 different versions I think.  One of my ffl's told me that prices are going up on springfields from the manufacturer.  Could just be the d and xdm line who knows  He could be just feeding me a line of shit too.  So if you have the cash its worth it and probably wont find it cheaper.  I got the stainless at that price a few months ago and was under 5 other vendors and all the online sites I compared them to.  Right now I have an 800 dollar hammer but I will shoot it eventually.

I just paid $875 for my new Loaded parkerized and it has the NM prefix and is assembled in US.  Purchased a couple of weeks ago.

If it does not have the NM prefix it will say "Imbel" and "made in Brazil".  I passed on a stainless model for that reason.

I have put about 300 rounds through mine so far.  No issues at all and the most accurate thing I have shot in years.  You won't regret getting the Loaded.

I bought one used (looked new) for 625 around a year ago.  Great gun but mine shot 6" low and had to get a new front sight to correct this.  Other than that the gun has gone bang every time .
