| So I recently bought a Springfield Loaded (Love it)! Anyways, when reassembling, I found it a pain to use that small guide rod and screw and had a hard time getting it back in, mainly depressing it down enough to get the bushing over it. Now, I want to get a full length guide rod, and a new piece that goes underneath the bushing (can't remember the name for the life of me). What do you suggest? |

Awesome, that looks great! Would a bushing wrench help? Only if the barrel bushing can not be turned by hand. I find the rather odd to use. Insert a spent cartridge, in smoke stack fashion, between the slide & barrel hood. Then install the spring retainer & turn the barrel bushing. This method will prevent undue wear on the barrel at the contact point where the barrel meets the bushing when slide is in battery. |

Me too. This has high ratings on midway as a fix for the garbage springfield loaded 2 peice guide rod. |

I absolutely HATE FLGR's in 1911's, they serve ZERO purpose other than make it a pain in the ass to strip This is what I replaced mine with in my TRP http://www.edbrown.com/cgi/htmlos.cgi/0386.3.575544467918250638 882-STD Recoil Spring Guide 881-STD-S Recoil Spring Plug (SS) And while I was at it... http://www.edbrown.com/cgi/htmlos.cgi/0386.3.170531748418250638 890-T Extended Safety, Tactical |
