Looks like their releasing a  single stack 45!

Edited title for impact

Wow 79 views and no comments? Figured there would be more excitement about a single stack XD as that seems to be one of the complaints about folks who don't want to carry any of the current XD/XDm's due to their size? I don't have any problems with carrying a 4" service XD in 45ACP or my XDm in 9, however I will definitely take a hard look at this when it hits the stores.

Single-stack XD?

Might as well go with a 1911A1.

As far as new variations of the XD series, I'd rather see an XD in 10mm.

I like the idea, but hate the round count.

Would be hard to swap to this from my XD SC .40.

I thought the same thing. I'm assuming this gun is much smaller than I first thought, if the round count is only 5+1.

Revolver capacity in a semi..............meh.  The gun does look great, however many people despise the Glock 36 because it feels wrong.  I don't see how this one will be any different.

A .45 that's thinner than a 9mm PPS.

I'll wait for the 9mm, but that's impressive in my book.

It's being talked about in GD here.

Thats what I'm thinking, I'd like a 9mm similar in size to a Kel-Tec or LC9.

Interesting.

I'll keep my 7+1 Glock 36, thanks.

I will keep the 3.8 .45.  8+1, is worth the extra width.

I do like the idea but would carry a 1911 for a single stack application

I couldn't find the other thread, from about a month ago, dealing with this. But....NO! I wasn't referring to the 3.8 Compact 45ACP SA XD. THIS is the one that I couldn't remember the name of. After you've been in a coma from brain injuries, names are a bit hard to remember. This is the sub compact XD 45 that I was "dreaming up" in my mind.  ;) I have a "few" XD's, and like this idea...I won't get rid of my SA Micro45, but I might have to check this one out.

As for the Glock comments, if I wanted the grip angle of a Glock, I wouldn't be carrying ANYthing but a Glock. I will carry ANYthing before a Glock. Thought I'd share some of the reciprocal "Love" for our XD's. Carry what works for you, leave the rest for those that THEY fit...I prefer XD and 1911 grip angles...

I like it so far.  I'm typically an XD<Glock<M&P guy (having owned all three), but this little guy looks handy.

If they offer it with a +2 extended baseplate mag, it would help the pistol do double duty as a perhaps more reasonable capacity nightstand gun (with the addition of a compact light).

Wife sent me a link of this little bugger this morning...... Can't wait!

Getting one as soon as it drops!

I like my M&P full sized but really wanted a compact.  I waited for what seemed like forever for S&W to come out with a compact M&P 45,.  A month after I gave up and got the full size the compact came out....
This looks interesting as it will be both smaller and thinner than the M&P so I will have to check one out when the frenzy settles down and there is some range report data that starts coming out.

The same size as my Kahr P40, but with a grip safety and MUCH better trigger...  Heck yeah!

Oh no, 5+1... IF ONLY there were some doodad that you could use to make the grip a tad longer and hold one or two more rounds...

I like being able to CCW a pistol without needing to buy bigger pants...  This is HUGE.  (pun intended)

I'd even be interested in a medium sized XD in single stack...

I am interested, I would also like to see a 9mm version.

I'm liking it alot the more I look at it, just wondering where the price point is going to be??  For those bitching saying carry a 1911 that's fine and all but not all of us go tactical with gun belts and such everyday especially in summer.  When it's above 75 I breaks out the cargo shorts and flops and hell no to a belt so this in a crossbreed will do nicely or maybe even a cargo pocket carry..............

I think I just found a replacement for my Kahr P40!

They wont be able to keep these on the shelves.

It would be nice if more manufacturers would get into the single stack 9mm....

After talking with a couple of shops, there's already a lot of requests to order these.  This might make the Kel-Tec PMR30 look like a easy item to acquire.

This. Im liking it ore and more for a summer gun. that and as a buckup as well or a glovebox gun. Im starting to see the uses and since I already have an XD .45 compacat I can use the same ammo.

Whats the cost difference from a compact 1911?

If I'm looking for a thin concealable .45 I'd take a 1911 compact with 7+1 over an XD with 5 + 1

Cool idea though.

is this the "s" factor?

<––––––-owns three different XD/XDm's and loves all of them.

Most likely, the XD-s will run around $500 OTD, so at the price of a compact 1911, you can carry 2 XD-s, so you have 10+2!

I heard that these will start shipping around the end of March...
