I recently purchased my first XDm and i was wondering if anybody knew of some tried and true replacement irons?
I've heard good things about the trijicons; are they worth the extra $150ish?

also if anybody had any pics looking down the sights of a trijicon that you could post that would be super.

if your referring to the TFO sights, they are in a word AWESOME. i dont have a XD but i have them on my Kimber and they are hands down the best sights i have ever had. the are only $75 though. no pics but its tritium behind a piece of fiber optic. at night they look just like tritium night sights and during the day they look like the nice fiber optic sights that most use on turkey guns. made all the difference in the world for day time shooting even on cloudy days.

I looked at those, but I believe that they are only for the XD, and not the XDm. I really don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Yeah, i probably will send them an email just for confirmation. Thanks for the info on the truglos though. I feel alot better about spending $75 rather than $150 just because it says trijicon on 'em.

I joined back in 2004, I just don't post allot here. One day when I am famous I will be able to afford to advertise here.

I went full out TFO's on my house guns because I thought the concept was GREAT... but after actually using them for a while, I just don't like them.  They shorten the sight radius, the fiber optic can fall out, the rear dots show up too much, and I miss the white outline on the front sight.

I'm going to give the Ameriglo ProGlo i-dots a try when they are released for the XD (late 2011 or early 2012).  I much prefer 2 vertical dots over 3 horizontal ones anyway.

WHATEVER you decide, PLEASE have them installed by a gunsmith who actually knows how to do XD sights.  Send it to Springer Precision if you have to.  I had a local smith install mine, and he scratched my slide because he couldn't get the front sight loose.

I'm realizing that Irons are very user specific. I think I'm going to hold off on buying something until I get some hands-on-time with some different sight options.
As it stands now I'm not in love with stock XDm sights.
I looked at the truglos, and the more i look at them the more i hate how big and chunky they are. I was kinda hoping for something with more of a Novak Profile.
I like how the trijicons look and the sight picture, just not the Price Tag. I guess Its buy once cry once though
I'll have to look into the Ameriglo's.
I have a local gunsmith who is familiar with XD's, if I get new sights he will be taking care of it.

Well it will be hard to get hands on time with all of the different sight options. So here is my page on a bunch of different sights that will install on XD`s. The goal was to provide a person with as much information about each sights available including 360 views of the sights to what they look like installed on an XD. Sort of giving you a hands on without actually being hands on. Let me know what you think and yes other sights are coming.
