I have read a few reviews about this gun so I have been wanting one.  I have a Glock 17 so I did not want another 9mm.   Came with 2 hicap mags (12rd+1) which I guess is the highest capacity for a .40.

Does anyone have any comments good or bad about their XD40?  What ammo do you recommend, what about holsters, etc...

I like mine. All the ammo I've tried in it has been reliable. I carry mine in a Blade-Tech belt holster.

Nah, I think you can get 13 Rounds for the HK USP Fullsize. My buddy has a two tone XD Tactical, and it is AWSOME! The ergonomics are really great. The only problem is that it has failed to feed like 5 times out of 400 rounds. Other than that, his .40 XD Tactical is a really nice gun. I still like my ol' USP though.

I have been packing mine for almost 2 years now.  The earlier ones had some issue with the finish. I had mine Armory Koated by SA and have had good service.  And to boot mine was more accurate than my Sig 226 40, which I sold.

I bought one for the wife and like it myself.   No it'll never replace my M1911 but I like it better than my P220 and if it were a .45 I'd replace the 220 with it.   If SA built one in .45acp I'd see about it being approved to replace my sig.

I'm a 1911 guy too but love my XD40. It's a better Glock than the Glock. I like the standard grip angle and grip safety and the gun is accurate and reliable. Just bought 3 new 12 round mags.

I'd recommend the G-Code Paddle Holster from Gunner's Alley

i just picked up and xd 40 that i got at a deal.  I really bought it for my dad, but man i wish i could keep it.  its the stainless slide model.

I shot it when i got home, and man i was rolling them out to 23 yards.  I am really impressed.  i can't hit targets as consistantly  at this distance with my glocks.  the standard sights on a glock suck to me.

these guns are really underated.    im going to buy some before they go up in price.

I bought one in July of '03. Ihave yet to have a miss-feed, or a bad ejection. It is my carry weapon and I dont fire my Glock  any more. Great weapon! The only problem I have is that I have 5 10 round mag's that I am replacing with hi-cap's mag's...

I'll take your 10 rounders if you want to get rid of them cheap!  Jeff

I love mine.  It came with 12 rnd mags and I just ordered 5 more.  This is a really great pistol and I think you will really enjoy it.
