So I received my 629 PC from MI Gunslingers today.  Big thanks to George for excellent customer service.
Feels great in the hand and the sights are quick, easy to see and appear to be dead on at 7 yds.  Double action pull is smooth as silk, single action is the lightest trigger I have ever felt, with no creep at all.
Shooting 44 special is very controllable as was the 44 mag short barrel from Speer.  The Magtech 44 mag FMJs were quite stout though.  Little too much flash but still fun as a MOFO!
Love the gun and can't wait till my holster from lobo gun leather comes in so I can carry it.  That's right, I'm carrying this hog.

Damn, that is very nice looking!

What holster are you going to use for it?

The enhanced avenger  Lobo

Ha ha ha....Yes you will!

I have a buddy that has an older 629 with a 3" barrel. I am not sure if it is Lew Horton Special or a Trail Boss model, but it is a sweet shooting revolver.....I told him if he ever decides to sell it to call me first!!!!

Right now, my main "Outback Packing gun" is a Ruger Redhawk with a 5-1/2" barrel....it is a great pistol too, but it is a big gun for everyday packing around....

Very nice!  What grips are those?  I put a set of Ahrends finger groove combats on my 29-10 Bounty Hunter.  Still not 100% sure I'm settled on the right grips.  Pictured along with a set of Hogues that I have had on this gun.

Both very nice revolvers. I love my 6" 29 but would like to get a shorter version.

The grips are straight from smith and wesson.

Come on now and sack up.  If you're going to carry it in the woods, feed it some of these 320 WFN from Double Tap.  That gun will handle it.

I suppose I should give them a try.  I just need to find a backstop that will hold up against those beasts. That's what I love about this platform.  So many options when it comes to loads.  I love this gun so much I might go wheel gun permanently.  I've got a fever... and the only solution is more wheelgun!

Nice.

What does it weigh?

That 200 gr Gold dot is perfect for carry ammo.    Runs around 1000fps out of my 2.5" Alaskan.

S&W says 39 ozs.  So about the same as a 1911.  Not too bad at all.

Very nice!

I've got a couple of 3" 44 mags, and they are definitly guns that promote that feeling of confidence in what you're carrying.

Just to show off a little:

44 magnum 200gr Speer GDSB.

Runs about 1000fps from a 3" bbl, and can be duplicated (using the Speer bullets) with about 10gr of Universal or Unique. Very manageable, more like shooting .38 +P.

ETA Same load as was tested by the op, and endorsed by RIPRR above. It's good stuff

Nice shooter.  I'm torn between this model and the 627, myself.  Leaning towards the little brother, the 627.
