Hi Folks,
I haven't been here in a while (my cp says I haven't posted since 2005!) sorry 'bout that- been busy is all.

I picked up a NIB Taurus M327 yesterday at a gun show. I'd been reading and researching the .327 Federal Magnum and decided to go for it, in spite of the newness, and availability of ammo.

I took it out to the range this morning, and shot it a little bit to make sure it would function.

It is surprisingly accurate- for only having a 2" barrel, the trigger action is nice and crisp and it hits POA at 15-20 feet.

The problem I'm having is that the Magnum cases stick really bad! I shot about 50 .32 S&W longs without a hiccup, and they extract just fine, but when I shot the magnums (115g speer gold dot,)  The cases stick really tight. On inspection, the magnum cases look really swollen, while the S&W cases look normal.

Any ideas on what to do to get them to extract more easily? I plan to use this as a ccw weapon, so obviously I need to be able to reload it.
I think I may stop by a gun shop on my way home and have them take a look, but thought I'd ask the experts here as well.

Should I send it back to Taurus?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Pat

Might be a bad lot of ammo...high pressure.

So you shot some shorter cased ammo first, and then the .327 mags? Perhaps that first batch was pretty dirty ammo and left a good amount of crud, making the full length magnum loads stick.
I would clean the revolver well and go back to the range and start out with the .327 mags, and see how they extract.
