Have a Colt Cobra (my father's old off duty gun)
Bought new from Colt in 1973. It needs repair - the recoil plate* fell out during dry firing.
My uneducated guess - this was the result of qualifying with department issue +P rounds. *I believe that is the correct part, listed as #33 on this exploded view. Link Here Is there anyone out there who can help me bring this old warhorse back to firing condition? While it would not be used often (and then, only with wadcutters) I would hate to see a family heirloom taken out of action. |

If the gun is a family heirloom and you value it, I would contact Colt to see if they can fix it. Many good Colt revolvers have been ruined by "gunsmiths". They are tricky to work on.
