My brother asked me about this, and this question is over my head.....what do you think?
He has a Colt SAA Bisley in 38 W.C.F. with serial 242***. From my reading, it appears that it was made in 1903. It's all matching numbers, tight, shiny bore.....pretty good shape for over a hundred years old. I know its tough without a thorough examination, but ballpark....what should he get out of it in today's market? |

id check the gun auction/selling sites and see what pops up there. some of them have "past auctions/sales" so you could find what some were sold for. if you can find a copy of the Blue book. even older editions have great color pics in there on the "pretty good shape" so you can give a % condition.
also, condition IS everything and w/o pics it doesnt mean much especially when it comes to older Colts.. "pretty good shape" is what condition? 10%, 50%????. im sure there are some people on here that are in "pretty good shape" but have 1 foot in the grave. |
