Smith Mod 10 with four inch pencil barrell,4 screw, with numbered diamond grips 100 percent (LNIB)without box!

Ser# C7393xx they quit making the 4 screws in 1962 ,so I would guess this to be a 1960 gun.

How much without pictures would you think this gun would be worth?

$600+...

Based on my new book I just got, 4 screw is a 30% premium over 3 screw, a ANIB is $365 + 30%..but that's with a box.

Not without box and papers.  Even with, you're looking at $500 tops.  Around here anyway,  I collect Tens and try to keep my eyes open for them.  Not as common as they once were but they are far from a collector's item.  Most are still sold as a used handgun.  An early sixites piece may command a small premium but not much.

$300 IMO. A model ten is a model ten is a model ten. *shrug*

It would sell for a lot more than $300 on gunbroker.

I really knew that it was not a high dollar gun in the 600 price range, but I'm sure it's not a 300 dollar gun!

I would rather trade it for a used mod 10 that I could stick in my waistband and head out the door  with!

I like  guns that I can use,I may just go on S&W com and find someone whom wants a closet Queen and who
will just add a little cash and a beat up model 10 or 13 .

But as always you guys are right a Mod 10 is just a Mod 10!

You can joke about Model 10s but they sure feel good in the hand.
I got a nickel one not too long ago and the "feel good" hasn't worn off yet.

Dan I'm not joking about the Mod 10 It kept S&W on the map ,through many wars.  It is the perfect pointer!

I know only too well. I shot mine Tuesday. It shoots better than I do. I've worn out several Model 10s and 15s over the years shooting hundreds of rounds every week. I put 'em down for 15 years or so and am now just getting back into shooting them.
Two things that have always felt good in my hands and I have almost always shot well with them - a K frame S&W and a 1911A1.
I'm going back to the old school after years of Sigs, Glocks, etc. and othe hi-cap handguns.

That is so funny...I too have "regressed"....I have shot my Mod 10 and 1911's more and more over my Sigs.

I'm looking for a 2.5" Mod 19 now..

We're thinking along the same lines. I'm looking for a 3" Mod 65 myself.
