[ARCHIVED THREAD] - S&W Model 15

A shop here has a S&W Model 15 4" barrel in the case. It is CAI import marked. Blueing is about 90% condition, and it locks up good.
He is asking $275. Fair, or overpriced?

I would say fair but that import mark would bug the hell out of me and I would want a price drop because of it. Sounds like it would make a good shooter.

If it's tight and not obviously abused I'd buy it. The import mark usually means that it was issued to some third world Police Officer for show and not fired much, if at all.

I recently sold my Mod 15 to a dealer for $500.00.

Yes, as long as it's mechanically sound and not to rough on the eyes, that's a pretty good price, really. Post some pics of it when you get it. Hey, hello Hoosier. I was born and grew up in southern IN.

$275 for a 90% Combat Masterpiece is a really good price for my location. I'd jump on it, even with the reimport mark. Easily my favorite S&W.

I'd say the import mark gives you negotiating leverage for a lower price. The worst he can say is "no" and you still end up paying the asking price.

Thats a good price. I picked my Combat Masterpiece up in Dallas for 300, about the same condition you described. Mine was a trade in from the Dallas Police Dept. Carried alot, fired very little. Inside the barrel looks practically brand new.
