Hey all,
I got a Ruger Super Red Hawk from a friend of mine last year and thought it would be fun to put a scope on it. Any suggestions? |
| I don't care for 2x fixed scopes so I'd either go with a 4x fixed or something in the 2-6x variable range. The Bushy Elite 3200 is a nice variable, probably my favorite of the ones I have in that magnification range - I think I'd likely up going that direction with a SRH. I have a Weaver 4x fixed on my 44mag Encore handgun that I like pretty well; took a deer at about 35yds with that scope - 4x might have been a hindrance if it was much closer than that. Leupy's are certainly good glass however the eye relief is a little sensitive. (at least on the one I tried) The only Burris handgun scope I have is a 3-12x - while it is too much scope for your revolver; I do think it is good glass, might be worth taking a look at their 2-7x. |

I have a Leupy 2x on my 308 handgun and a TC 2x on my SRH and I did have a 1-4 leupy on a 7-30 waters.
I like the 2x for most things, but for punching paper the added zoom is nice. The higher power scopes are hard to find the reticles quickly. If you are shooting close in a red dot type is good, both fast and accurate, but it looks like a friggen Pringles can. |
