Why are there two different compensators for the S&W 500. I know one is for lead and one is for copper, but what do they do differently? Also, I forgot which one I should be using for lead and which one for copper bullets. Does anyone know?

The shorter one with smaller vents is for jacketed ammo only because of potential lead build-up. The longer one is good for either lead or jacketed.
