I had Clark Custom work over my S&W 610.  Got their "carry package" trigger job and a green fiber optic insert put in the front sight.  I could not be happier.
Price was right, workmanship splendid and got it back a couple weeks earlier than promised.

what do you want to have done? if its an double action job- that is very basic. if you have a saa or similar and want a very slick action than only one person to go with.
Bob Munden- besides you will have a gun that becomes a bit of a collector due to his status- http://www.bob-munden.com/custom.htm

There are a lot of custom sixgun smiths out there right now practicing their craft besides Bob Munden (who does excellent work and is truly a legend). These gentleman are real artists with single action sixguns. Hamilton Bowen, Alan Harton, Dave Clements, Andy Horvath, John Gallagher, and the father-son team of John and Dustin Linebaugh come to mind. There are others. Hamilton Bowen and David Clements both work on double action revolvers. The others might too, but I'm not sure.

Alan Harton in Houston, Texas is the artist that turned this old shot loose flattop Ruger .357

into this custom one of a kind .44 Spl.

Good luck with whomever you choose.

very nice oct. barrel...typically their big bucks. freedom arms wants $744 to add one on, this is in addition to price of their guns...

I've had Chestnut Mountain Sports (Karl Sokol) do several S&W revolvers for me.

He's a great guy and will only build you a gun that he would fight with. If your in the market for customizing to increase performance on a carry/home defense gun I wouldn't hesitate to go to him.

As a side note he also builds the most reliable 1911s I've ever shot and I've put mine up against Wilsons, S&W PC, and Baer.

I'm very picky when it comes to custom work on my weapons and I try to get the most for my money on a cops budget. That said, I've had Karl do 6 or 7 guns and will go back to him in the future.

If it's a Ruger single action, the previously mentioned Andy Horvath would be my pick.

For a S&W check out Scott Mulkerin at SDM Fabricating.

I went to Bob Mundens site but I can't find any prices. Any roundhouse figures on what he charges for a basic action job?
