great price on a great snubbie! I just got a no dash 686 2.5"(which I guess was a Lou Horton run of 2500) and love it...but i just love snubbies I did pass on a 686-4 4" 7 shot this weekend, suspect i will regret it down the road but did find a 1977 Hi Power at a garage sale saturday morning for a sweet price...even had S&W rear sight custom installed back the day |
Dodge Ram tried to make me and my Harley a hood ornament 4/11. Still on crutches, but have managed to hit the range 4 times. Go crutch your butt out there and shoot that that thing! Congrats too.

I'm glad to hear you're doing better, man. I was wondering how you were healing up. |

Nice find .. but why would you want to trade this charmer for a 3" CS 1?!!! I had a 4" CS 1 revolver and it did not compare to the regular 686 action. Mine had the infamous floating hand that made D/A shooting hard with an ever changing carry up. I should have just changed out the hand but rather got rid of it at the time. Unless you are a collector, the gun you have is as good as it gets. |
Well, I've had a soft spot for CS-1's since around 1988 when they were commonly available. I wanted one and was a couple years away from being 21 yet. Probably as much sentimental as anything, but just always wanted one. I do very much like my 3" 686 with the lock, maybe i'll just invest some effort in getting the lock removed. Anyway, thanks for all the kind words. I'll try to report on how it shoots once I get to the range. My injury may be just the excuse to get my girlfriend back out to the range. Someone who can chase my .45 brass for me to boot... LOL later, AJ |
