Guy at my club passed on and another club member is selling off some of his stuff for the guys family.

I bought a bunch of reloading stuff but I am now interested in a Ruger Single Six but both the guy charged with selling and myself are clueless about the fair value. Being as it is the family of a clubmember I would desire a value between what a shop would sell it for and what they would buy it for. This has always seemed fair in the past when swapping guns between friends at the club but due to the nature of this possible sale I want to be sure and be fair.

Blued,5 1/2" barrel,adj sight, 22lr+22mag cylinders
no rust but some scratches on the cylinder.
several small wear marks thru the blueing on the aluminum parts-ejector rod housing, trigger guard and lower grip frame
sharp corners of the rear sight are worn through to the "white"
several small nicks in the wood grips.
solid "ring" around the cylinder from the bolt dragging.
Slight holster wear on front sight and front edges of the barrel.
Trigger and all other functions appear to be just fine

At a quick look it appears decent but a close examination does show this wear which looks to be mostly from carry.

If the fair value is around $140 or so I would go for it , everything I could find on the auctions seemed high to me,either real old "three screw" collectables or NIB types.

The new blued guns with adj sights are about $379 in several places is that is any starting place.
Thanks

GunsAmerica.com:

New unfired blued w/ 2 cyls:

95% new Magnum (dont know about LR cylinder)

ETA
So we have a range between $245 low and $365 high. The high end gun is NIB; the low end gun only has the Magnum cylinder.

I have no idea what a second cylinder would cost. I HAVE seen some articles that hint that such a cylinder must be fitted by a gunsmith.

I'm thinking that your gun is probably closer to the less-expensive gun listed above, but has  more wear on it. If it shoots well I'd guess its value (lowball) at about $200.

ETA2 If it DOES go for $140, let me know and I'll go sell one of my neighbor's kids or something to get the money together for it.

If you are buying it for yourself, go for it. I have one and it is a sweet shooting revolver! Very accurate, easy to clean, and the two cylinders make it quite versatile.

Ruger doesn't charge much at all to fit another cylinder. Best to call and find out, but IIRC it's under $100.
