I had to pass on a 2.5" Model 66 at the (not so) fun show today. It was LAPD stamped under the cylinder. The 66 wasn't marked, but other than a market-priced Detective Special, all his wheelguns were high. Cylinder slop was terrible (I suppose this cop was neither shy of range time nor magnums), so I left it on the table and went home. People ask what I got at the fun show today and I hold my hand up "a $7 temporary tattoo that says "SUN". ![]() I am glad the funshow was useful for one of us. Damn nice looking too, for a cop trade in. |

For what it's worth, I paid about $50 (this included shipping and transfer) more earlier this year for a prestine 3" model 64 (38spl +P). This has become my carry gun. Great deal on an excellent carry gun. I had a 2" 66 that I carried, but found it cumbersome. Traded it for a 4" 66 then bought the 64. I much prefer the 3" 64 to the 2" 66. FWIW, I have a 4" model 13 (blue version of your gun) that I have had for about 20 years and all it does is get smother. Out of the thousands of rounds I have put through it, 99% have been 38spl target loads that I reloaded. It will shoot .357 magnum very well though. I would love to add one of these to add to my K Frame collection. If you find your not liking it, I will give it a good home. R/ Mike VA Beach |
