Does anyone know where I could find a S&W victory model for sale? It can look like crap, as long as it is in good mechanical condition. I would really like to find one chambered in 38/200 (38 S&W) ; but, I wouldn't mind having one in 38 spl as well. I live near DFW area, so if anyone knows of a shop with one on the shelf let me know. Thanks! Also, any info on the 38/200's would be appreciated. They were lend/lease guns sent to Britain weren't they? |

The Victory model in .38 S&W was the lend lease gun sent to England in WWII, .38 is the calibre, 200gr was the bullet weight, I think. The .38 Special chambered guns were used by US troops. I had one with paint under the grips and was told by the collector who got it from me that it was a US Navy gun. It had the flaming bomb on it. The paint on the inside of the grip panels was to avoid rust. I added $50 and got a nice 6" S&W Model 19, so I do not look back. |

The .38/200 British Service Revolver was designated the Model K-200 Caliber was .38 S&W with a 200 grain bullet. Double action revolver built on the square butt K frame with 5 screws. Available in 4",5", or 6" pinned barrel lengths. Finishes were either bright blue, sandblast blue, or sandblast black magic finish. Early lend-lease guns were marked U.S. Property or UNITED STATES PROPERTY. Variations will effect value in both directions.... Here's a Victory Model I refurbished recently http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l163/Gizamo1/Rescue005.jpg Gizamo |
