got a great deal on a like nib ruger superredhawk 7 1/2 inch in .480 ruger.wow what a gun.i paid 475.00 out the door.i really like the barrel lenth i already have an 8 inch anaconda in.44 magwhich i also love but the slightly shorter barel seems more managable to me.recoil is not at all bad.a bit more than my anaconda which also isnt that bad IMHO.MY BUDDY HAS A TAURUS RAGGING BULL IN .454 CASULLE.WE HAVENT SHOT IT YET BUT I EXPECT IT TO BE A HANDFUL WITH A 6 1/2 INCH BAREL.

You will love the Ruger 480. Hang on tight for the ride! <grin> The 454 seems to be more of a bear to handle, than the 480. At least, that is my experience. I put a scope on mine. see it at http://www.geocities.com/rugercal480/index.html

I got a mint .44mag super redhawk same length barrel as you for $450 with scope, shoulder holster, double speedloader case. What a gun. I removed the stock grip and put on hogue grips, fits my hand alot better.some friends said the stock grips are sometimes small on the super redhawk

I also just put a Hogue grip on my Ruger Super Red-Hawk 454. Makes a big difference. I like it.
